and their Children [NCSMC]

A self-help group set up by a group of women who gave birth to children without being married to the child’s father. They fight for the basic and essential rights of all sole parent families. Kidsafe NSW Inc – Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia

There are many young people who help out a family member who has a disability. The NSW Young Carer Project has lots of fun and supportive activities for young carers (less than 25 years of age). They include: camps, a newsletter, a talk-link (telephone group counselling) service, face-to-face counselling, phone support/information/referrals, and interactive young carers website. There is usually no payment for activities but donations are always welcome.
