for people with disability in NSW"
The Project Team have received a lot of positive feedback and encouragement re. book from parents/people with disability, a range of support workers in the community, major mainstream service providers of family and children, academics, and international organisations.
Some examples of the feedback …
Thanks for my copy of the resource guide! It’s already given me some good leads that I’ll be pursuing. Thank you to you and the team for putting it together!

On behalf of NEDA Council I would like to congratulate you on what you have managed to achieve so far with very little resource. I have seen a draft version of the resource guide and found it to be very comprehensive and accessible. I am particularly pleased to see that multicultural services are included in every section of the resource.

This Resource “Pathways to Parenthood” is well researched, user friendly, written in an easy to read format with large print. The information covers the journey before, during and after the birth. It covers a wide variety of disability/ chronic illness as well as covering the multicultural and indigenous population. The depth of research impressed me. If only …. I were aware of these services when we were raising our family, our life would have been made easier. All Parents have different needs and
desires for parenting. This Handbook/ Resource is filling the void, which has existed. It is a valuable contribution towards a better understanding of Parenthood and Disability/ Chronic illness.

I find this resource to be most useful and helpful for people with disabilities who are or will become parents. Lack of information and resources is consistently rated as one of the most frustrating experiences for people with disability, and such a publication is an excellent way to inform, inspire and offer practical assistance. This book will be beneficial in helping people to make informed choices about parenting with disability, and access
both mainstream and disability specific services in raising their children.

I do a lot of work with parents who’s children are the subject of care and protection orders. A topic dear to my heart, it’s great to see resources like this. Some great stuff is coming out of NSW around this. Keep up the good work.

A huge congratulations on the effort you have all put in on this amazing and much needed resource.
– male social worker who works with clients with intellectual/learning disability
Congratulations to you and the team for putting together such a comprehensive resource.
